How to Surrender and Trust Life (Even when it hurts)

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on what it really means to be in the flow of life. That state where—despite the chaos, the wounds, the uncertainty—there’s still a current carrying us somewhere meaningful.

Many of us on this spiritual path didn’t come from ease. Our childhoods may not have felt like the dreamy foundation we wished for. Instead, we often carried the weight of trauma, of ancestral patterns, of deep emotional weather systems moving through our young bodies. Yet, through all that, something bigger was unfolding.

There’s a divine orchestration at play, one that doesn’t minimize the pain we’ve felt but that also invites us to see how these very experiences have shaped our compassion, our insight, our ability to hold space for others. I believe that those of us with deep soul journeys were given this path for a reason. Not so we could live in the wound, but so we could become midwives for healing—our own and others’.

And yet, even in this awareness, it’s easy to get stuck: stuck in judgment, in resentment, in the old stories. When we do, we lose our connection to the sacred current that has always been moving beneath everything. But when we can surrender—not collapse, but surrender into the greater mystery—something shifts. We remember that we’re not alone, that there is a rhythm, a pulse, a direction beneath the noise.

This is the real invitation: to step out of victimhood and into relationship with life. To clear away what isn’t ours so we can be vessels for what is. To listen for the guidance moving through our hearts. Because when we’re in that flow, life doesn’t just happen to us—we move with it. We co-create.

I spoke more about this in a recent episode of Water Rising. If this resonates, and you want to deepen into the conversation, you can listen here
