We have been told that in order to be happy and joyful, peaceful, calm and connected, then we need to learn how to quiet our minds and be nothing, be present. This can be discouraging as our minds race along and our stories keep swirling, leaving us anxious, confused and adrift.
We cling so tightly to the idea that if only we could let go of our regrets about the past that haunts us and give up our worries of the undecided future that stretches out in front of us, elusive and problematic, THEN we will be able to find the place within us where all is silent. Then we can experience presence.
We believe that once we have eliminated and eradicated our thoughts and feelings, become the hollow vessel, and experience NOTHING, then we can find respite and reprieve from the storm.
Yet my love, I want to offer a new way of thinking about presence, that spiritual connection is not about being nothing, it’s about being EVERYTHING.
On this wild and winding spiritual journey, all that you are seeking is found in being present to ALL of your life. The deeper we hide and suppress our thoughts and feelings, the more we turn away from our past woes and future fears, the more power they have over us. The desire to quiet the noise and static of our internal landscape in order to find more joy, more love and more laughter, will be granted by us being here in this moment, with exactly what is happening.
We are complicated, multidimensional, divine beings that have come here to understand life in a body, and the path to experiencing presence is by being willing to explore the entirety of ourselves as human beings.
Remember, you hold within your heart a compass that knows how to locate your presence and you contain the unique medicine that will provide you the stillness and peace that you wish for so desperately.
Everything you seek lives within you my love, waiting for you to shine your understanding, ready for your forgiveness, ready for your tender sweet love to be bestowed upon YOU. This is where you will find your presence, this is where the stillness lives.
Being everything is the path that will take you to being nothing.
