Embracing Spiritual Growth Through Travel

This summer, I had the opportunity to travel through Guatemala, visiting the jungle and the Mayan ruins of Tikal and then the mountains and coast of El Salvador.

I share this because travel for me is a spiritual undertaking. I love how it calls me forward to include more of my BEING and asks me to question my daily routines.

It is a ritual for me to leave all that I am used to and venture into the unknown, intentionally being uncomfortable and uncertain. I create this as a metaphor for my life.

To have only the things I carry on my back and get on a plane to somewhere I have never been before with only myself for company, opens a portal to a new way of being in the world. It challenges what I believe and changes the fabric of my existence.

Things that I take for granted when I am home, become acts of devotion and a desire for deeper connection. Away from the noise, it is easy to find the sacred woven together so beautifully with the mundane.

Simple things like clean water, dry clothes, wifi calling, understanding the language, things that are usually so easily accessible and available without much concern or attention, come into focus when I walk through new territory. I understand that I have to be willing to feel discomfort to engage with my new surroundings.

This reminds me of what is always available if I am willing to CHOOSE it.

Sweet one, you are the creator of your life. Your connection to Divine Source and your spiritual path is within your grasp if you have the courage to reach for it.

Are you willing to feel uncomfortable to have what you are reaching for?
