Try This Exercise to Connect with Your Intuition

When you open yourself to connect with your intuition, it can be a little overwhelming at first! There’s this flood of information rushing in, and it all seems to come at once.

I experience that tidal wave of information as a sense of knowingness, but for you, it might be a feeling or sensation, or you might even hear your intuition speaking to you in words.

Don’t let these sensations frighten you!

As you notice information that was not previously available to you, I want you to remember that this is a normal part of your intuitive development. You are recognizing how your intuition is speaking to you, and opening your heart to the messages your intuition wants you to receive.

There is nothing that will connect you more deeply to your intuition than being authentic and vulnerable. They almost co-exist together. The more that you can love your shadow side and allow yourself to be seen for who you truly are, the deeper you’re able to turn inward and connect with your beautiful flow of creative energy. When you allow yourself to be different, unique, and exactly who you are meant to be, you are connecting with your intuition rather than blocking it.

There is an exercise or technique that I use to help students get more in touch with their intuition, and I want you to try it right now!

Start by focusing on your heart – the transmitter of your intuition and intuitive information – and practice opening it like a flower. Close your eyes and imagine a bud of a flower, any flower that you love. I like to use a rose or some sort of flower that starts out in a tight bud and opens into a larger flower.

Envision that tight bud in the center of your heart, the heart space that’s right in the center of your chest, where your heart chakra is. Connect in with your breath for a few moments, and then use your imagination each time you breathe in.

Imagine that bud just slightly opening a little as you breathe in, and then breathe out and let it open a little wider. As you breathe in, see those petals opening wider. As you breathe out, allow that blossom to fully open. Breathe in and out of this beautiful flower that is opening your heart.

This simple exercise is a great way to connect to your heart and your intuition and is so easy to do at any moment. As you are opening your heart, you are making space for your intuition to move through you, guide you, and move you forward on your journey to become the person you were always meant to be.
